Why PLC is Used in Automation ?


       PLC play a vital role in automaton, programmable logic controller device can manage and control entire entire industry to produce better and quick Response.
           A PLC is a digital computer used for automation of industrial processes, like controlling machinery or factory assembly lines. Unlike desktop computers, PLCs are have multiple inputs and outputs, operate under extended temperature ranges, have immunity to electrical noise, and have resistance to vibration and impact. Programs to control machine operation are usually stored in battery-backed or non-volatile memory. 
            The main difference between PLC and other computer is that plc has multiple input and outputs, then can do multiple works at a moments, you can produce more output quickly.

What is Industrial Automation?


                             At present age of computer, industrial automation is used for manufacturing task; we are also used for robotics device. It is becoming increasingly important in the manufacturing process because computerized or robotic machines are capable of handling repetitive tasks quickly and efficiently. Company can save money with the help of industrial automation, why they expense more if specialized machinery is available. So at this stage of technologies industrial automation is play an important role for every machine companies.  

                          On the other side it effects, paid days off, vacation time, and other costly employee benefits, companies can save money easily with industrial automation. While robotic machinery can initially be extremely expensive, the loss of monthly wages for production workers leads to incredible savings for the company.  Workers do work well and produce products with better work.  In addition, too many companies or plants recruit many of automation engineers for verity of shifts and making products at cost effective price. Industrial automation, however, allows a company to run the plant twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year, without paying overtime.

What is ladder Diagram or Ladder Programming?


Ladder program is the programming language that represents in graphical form based on circuit diagram of relay hardware.
Ladder diagram represent the diagram of electrical components used for industrial logic systems. They are called "ladder" diagrams because they resemble a ladder, with two vertical rails (supply power) and as many "rungs" (horizontal lines) as there are control circuits to represent. If we wanted to draw a simple ladder diagram showing a lamp that is controlled by a hand switch, you can show below logic diagram:-



In the years of 1960, USA Company name Bedford associates first time released the device called as MODICON, this is the name of company for design and manufacturing and sale of computer products, The different firms developed their own versions of this device, and it eventually came to be known in non-proprietary terms as a PLC, or Programmable Logic Controller. The purpose of a PLC was to directly replace electromechanical relays as logic elements, substituting instead a solid-state digital computer with a stored program.

What is Scada ?

SCADA:- Supervisory Control And Data Aquisition

First time scada used in 1960. Scada is a supervisory controller that can control all your systems and inform about the current information of machine, you can easily command on machine with the help of scada. In reality, the primary purpose of SCADA is to monitor, control and alarm plant or regional operating systems from a central location.  While override control is possible, it is infrequently utilized; however control set points are quite regularly changed by SCADA. It can well monitor your entire working systems.  SCADA systems can be relatively very easy in use, such as one that monitors environmental conditions of a small office building, or incredibly complex, such as a system that monitors all the activity in a nuclear power plant or the activity of a municipal water system.

Scada is mainly devide in three types:-

  • RTU:-Remote Telemetry Units
  • Communications
  • HMI:-Human Machine Interface   
RTU:- It can collect the information from site and communication bring the information from different plan and machinery.

HMI:- The name all ready define it, HMI display the information of machine into display like permits operator control as required ,archives and data received.

Communication is used with the help of data cable inside the plant for information sharing; you can share the desire information with it. We are using fiber optic for communication.
